How To Replace A Flat Roof

    Flat Roof

For many people, the thought of replacing a flat roof can be daunting. But it doesn’t have to be! Poole Flat Roofing can provide the expertise you need to have a successful flat roof replacement. So let’s take a look at the process!

    About Us

    Assess The Damage

Before you begin the project, assess the damage to your existing flat roof to determine if replacement is necessary. If there are only one or two patches that need repair then this process may not be necessary. But if extensive damage has been done, then it’s time to move on to the next step. Poole Flat Roofing offers a full assessment service for flat roofs carried out by experienced contractors to ensure the replacement/repair is safe and secure.

    Preparing For Replacement

Once we’ve assessed the damage and determined that replacement is necessary, then it’s time to prepare for replacement. We will start by gathering all tools and materials needed for the job such as plywood sheets, nails, felt paper (underlayment), asphalt shingles, or other materials like metal or rubber membranes and sealant products – depending on what type of material your flat roof is made from. We will also use protective equipment such as gloves and goggles as well as ladders or scaffolding for easy access to your rooftop.

Removal Of Existing Roof and Installation Of New Roof

Now that we have all the tools and materials ready for the job at hand, it’s time to start removing the existing roofing material in preparation for the installation of new material! Our team begins by removing any broken pieces of wood along with old felt paper and any nails left behind from previous installation(s). Once this has been taken care of, it’s time to lay down your new underlayment followed by carefully placing each piece of plywood on top to create a solid foundation for your new roofing material. Finally, our contractors install new shingles or membranes according to the manufacturer’s instructions and apply sealant around edges/seams/corners using an appropriate caulking gun.

    Finishing Touches

Now that everything has been installed properly, it’s time for the finishing touches! This includes inspecting all areas surrounding newly installed material to make sure there are no loose seams or edges that could cause water leakage in future storms/rainy days etc., patching up any holes found around the chimney/vent stack, etc., cleaning up debris left over from installation process before finally applying a waterproof coating onto newly installed material to provide an extra layer of protection against water penetration in future years!
